So after giving my two cents, I am happy to announce that a 0.0.7 version has been released. I am no friend of calling them beryl-/compiz-"widgets" because they are a separate application and also work with xfwm4's compositing-mode or even xcompmgr. The Screenlet-superclass handles and simplifies a lot of rather complicated stuff and the Screenlet-subclasses (the things called "screenlets") can concentrate on being useful and good-looking. Screenlets are fully-featured gtk-applications written in python. ![]() Instead, Screenlets have theming-support to allow each screenlet to have an unlimited number of totally different designs. Screenlets have an entirely different architecture and are, basically, stand-alone applications - not plugins or some XML-based pseudo-language theme to some binary app. I just wanted to note that the Screenlets have absolutely nothing in common with superkaramba and/or gdesklets.
